Marcus Ferguson Easily my favourite Australian band at the moment, The Good China create perfect, infectious indie pop tunes that are impossible not to love.

"Old Maps / New Roads" is one of my favourite EPs of all-time and the four tracks included here in their second EP are equally brilliant.

I simply cannot recommend these guys highly enough! Favorite track: We Knew That We Had To Leave.

The bar queue's a showcase of Dangerfield threads The DJ's spinning "This Charming Man" again All the cool kids saying that they already knew it Singing "I'm so fucking indie, I don't even listen to music" A map of the entire world To pinpoint just where we are We know every song word for word And we're playing air guitar Guitar They came in carrying buckets coming from the south Until every stovepipe was washed out And every A-line skirt was met with a different crowd And every popped collar their wardrobe allowed We're sticking to the floor at the Rochester again They've watered down all the beer And nobody is dancing Dancing I wasn't asking for a sales pitch I wanted to ask if you could teach Teach me how to use a Holga We could spend the late afternoon taking long exposures We go back every year just to see if it's the same 'Cause of some sentimental value we're trying to recover Like a T-shirt in the closet that belonged to an ex-lover We're sticking to the floor at Rochester again They've watered down all the beer And nobody is dancing We're sticking to the floor at Rochester again They've watered down all the beer And nobody is dancing We're sticking to the floor at Rochester again They've watered down all the beer And nobody is dancing We're sticking to the floor at Rochester again They've watered down all the beer And nobody is dancing We knew that we had to leave We knew that we had to leave Everyone we knew had gone We knew that we had to We knew that we had to We knew that we had to leave

Hide in the corner of the living room Quietly hope your parents won't find you The penny had dropped and you weren't aware That the music stopped and you were left with no chair All of the music stopped All of the music stopped And you're left standing there We're all made in the dark You cut your short to Make friends with all the punks And now it clogs Up in your drainpipe and the Bathroom begins to flood I preferred you when we met You looked better a brunette As I rolled over to switch off the bed light We hadn't made any eye contact all night You poisoned your tree to make way for the path And now the sun scorches brown all the long grass All of the music stopped All of the music stopped And you're left with no chair We're all made in the dark You cut your short to Make friends with all the punks And now it clogs Up in your drainpipe and the Bathroom begins to flood I preferred you when we met You looked better a brunette In summer you were blonde In winter you were red In summer you were blonde In winter you were All of the music stopped All of the music stopped And you're left standing there

The believer you claim to be Seems more to me like make believe You've left your home and family Now you're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty The believer you claim to be Seems more to me like make believe You've gone as far as you can go With no more maps and no more roads No more maps and no more roads No more maps and no more roads No more maps and no more roads No more maps and no more roads No more maps and no more roads No more maps and no more roads No more maps and no more roads No more maps and No More Roads You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with uncertainty You're left with You're left with No More Roads

Sorry I called tails and left you with the head Sorry I laughed when said that he looked like he was dead You never know how to react 'til you're in the shoes that just stepped in shit In hindsight I can say I'm sorry the reaction didn't fit You don't know what you'll do until it's done Sorry I didn't call you right away You can call it shock or stupidity It's all the same Wouldn't have made a difference anyway But that won't stop me from beating myself up again and again You don't know what you'll do until it's done Early checkout before your time Jaw locked shut so as not to reveal your dentist's smile Spiderwebs and honeycomb Veins like road maps to all the Places you'll never go You don't know what you'll do until it's done And the mistakes you'll make can never be undone
